Hello!  I’m Ann Starbuck: actor, director, writer, producer and post production executive.

What does one do when you’re re-org’ed out of a job after a 20 year career in post production?  You hit your “retirement plan” early, which for me has always been acting, creating, writing, and producing.  When I was 19, I took an acting seminar with M. Emmet Walsh.  And the most prophetic thing he said during that class was that he had to “wait out his age.”  As a young character actress that line always stuck with me.  So now, I’m the age I’ve always played.  Let’s go!

Post production is the “theatre” of film and television.  It’s the space where the story gets “rehearsed.”  That is why I love post production.  For the past 20 years in Los Angeles, I’ve worked with the best creators and teams of post production people: editors, mixers, colorists, VFX folks, post producers and post executives.  I started in Post during HBO’s heyday, working on “Game of Thrones,” went to Starz for “Black Sails,” and spent the past decade at Netflix working on amazing TV Series, Films, and building out AI Cloud based workflows.   I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best people in Post – my teams have won multiple Emmys!

I also still love telling stories in front of an audience -- perfecting this craft of acting with this tribe of people I have played with over the past many years, in Regional, Off-Broadway, and LA Theatre.
